Dr. Greg Shirk
Dr. Greg Shirk graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1995. Prior to studying at Chiropractic School, he attended Iowa State University graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree. Dr. Shirk has been practicing in Mason City for over 27+ years. Since he began practicing Chiropractic, Dr. Shirk has kept up to date on many continuing educational classes, ensuring that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced Chiropractic care. He is the only certified Chiropractic Neurologist in Mason City and only one of three in North Iowa. Dr. Shirk is also a certified Acupuncturist.
Dr. Shirk started practicing in Mason City April 1st 1995 when he was hired to take over Masters Chiropractic Clinic. He purchased the business in 1997. In 2003 he built a new clinic and changed the name to Acute Care Chiropractic.
Dr. Shirk was awarded Physician of the Year in 2003 by the National Physicians Advisory Board and in 2004 he was recognized by the National Republican Congressional Committee as a “Pioneer of Health Care Reform” for his work on the National Business Advisory Council.
Dr. Shirk grew up in south eastern Iowa. He moved to Mason City with his wife Lisa and daughter Brittney in 1995. A second daughter Kyra was born 4 months after arriving in Mason City. When not in his clinic Dr. Shirk likes to fish, work on his house and spend time with his family.
Dr. Shirk pioneered the way for other family members to become Chiropractors. His oldest daughter Dr. Brittney (Shirk) Asby and her husband Dr. Bryan Asby have their own Chiropractic clinic in Dallas, Texas. His neice Dr. Katie (Shirk) Clark was practicing in Davenport, Ia. but she now teaches at Palmer Chiropractic College. Dr. Shirk has mentored several former patient’s who have gone on to become Chiropractors.
